Good afternoon from Sunny Southern California,
How are you doing today? How the hell would you know of course without asking anyone? This is the clear message that most people in "modern, Western" society (see my recent postings here on Blog Nostra for definitions) are living under. That they can't possibly know anything without finding out what they think, who they are, what's real or anything else for that matter without referencing it back to someone else.
Now I'm a proponent of inter-subjectivity, it's the basis for the whole damn stance I've taken publically most recently. My whole raison d'etre these days is to "right the wrong perpetrated by the ideas of subjective experience." But damnit if I'll stand by and watch quietly while the American press and politicos do it again!!!
What is it that I'm on such a rampage about (probably enhanced by being in California of all places ... in a way I can't wait to get home to good, ole' NJ ... while clicking my heels together - "There's no place like home, there's no place like home ...). It's the absolute refusal to accept the concept of personal responsibility as the most basic right of humanhood. Instead we're to be coddled and "protected" until we die - preventing of course any chance at having a life. The egregious stupidity of the Enlightenment now isn't just at the heart of the American Constitution it's gotten into the soul of it's supposed leaders as well!
You know the basic idea of the Enlightenment, no? Those who are best suited should lead and all the rest should simply follow like the good sheep they are.
The best way of course to tell who the "best suited" are is by how wealthy they (or better yet their "forefathers") have (had) become. The premise being of course that the "simple folk" should know their place and one of the primary duties of those "best suited" (this of course refers to the ability to afford Armani or better) should take every opportunity to remind them of what that is whenever possible. This has now become a dictum to legislate for keeping the simple folk simple (in mind - as they so often proven themselves to be without any help at all!).
What am I on about you ask ... the whole furor about steroid use in "American Major League Baseball" - WHAT THE FUCK!!! When did we begin to elect and pay our legislators to supervise sports teams!!! Am I the only fucking sane American left out here??!?!!??!!? These are BASEBALL PLAYERS!
When politicians get blow jobs in the White House Oval Office that's no cause to become disturbed ... but let an adult, under the direction of a physician, use a performance enhancing drug ... and we all know it's only a matter of time before society as we know it will fall. God forbid these same politicos should have their "performance enhancing drugs" taken away ... Viagra, Cialis, Prozac, Valium ... you name it ... then you'd here the real call of injustice and prejudice against the needy.
Is this really the most pressing issue in the American political scene today ... do they really believe that this will make us ignorant of the atrocities being perpetrated around the world ... what the fuck am I saying ... OF COURSE IT WILL ... IT ALWAYS HAS WORKED BEFORE ... AND IT"S WORKING NOW AGAIN!!! (Just check out the headlines of the major American newspapers for proof.)
Now I can live with all this ... as I've said I get that most people are simply happy to live simple (minded) lives, it's just less taxing for most. And, the ones who pay for it are happy to keep it this way so that they can remain "best suited." What's really pissing me off today is that they're blaming ... can you fucking guess????
ARNOLD SCHWARTZENEGGER ... Governor of California
That's right it's Arnold's fault, he's to blame for starting this evil trend to steroid use that's destroying America's youth. What's interesting is that some fools will actually believe this, some Senator will grandstand on it and it will become law!!!
If I didn't have a sense of obligation (and I didn't live in NJ and not California) I'd leave ... I'd find someplace in the world where you can fuck up your own life, without harming anyone else, in peace if you want to ... and even spill boiling hot coffee all over your cojones without anyone else having to pay for your stupidity!
This rejection of any sense of personal responsibility is the beginning of the end for most people ... before they even have a shot at a beginning. However, it's also the basis of the arguement for the reality of a social ontology as the basis of all experience. Most people only do know what others tell them is true, how it is ... and most significantly how it "should" be - usually for everyone. The key to having a life is rejecting the shifting of responsibility, taking on the sense of total responsibility for your life ... even when others could be blamed ... REJECT THE BLAME FRAME REGARDLESS!
Anyone trained in the MythoSelf(tm) Process already gets this, those who've been through the MythoSelf(tm) Advanced Program have had it beaten out of them ... and yet these folks still only represent a fraction of the number needed to reach the other hundred -million- (monkeys or otherwise) so that we can all learn how to wash our own damn potatoes.
That's all for today ...
Joseph

Joseph,
Personal responsibility? Is that even possible? The Blame Frame is a part of our social fabric so deeply entrenched there is ALMOST know hope of shaking it loose. From the earliest ages we are taught to blame our shortcomings on someone else, anyone else. Frustated parents, all over the world, cry over spilled milk to their terrified children, 'Now, look at what you MADE ME do!' and their children reply, 'But,Billy MADE ME put the frog in the blender.'
Then, off we go to school. Where we're taught to walk in straight lines and ask permission to piss, in a system designed to produce good little soldiers, err I mean, factory workers.
Hell, even more fun-DUH-mental than that is the idea of temptation to SIN. The devil made me do it, said Flip Wilson.
The entire social structure is based not on
RESPONSIBILITY FOR SELF AND TO OTHERS
